Bruker medvirkning hadde nok vært relevant i vår studie, og ville blitt brukt dersom vi hadde designet studien påny. Vi startet i realiteten å designe studien i 2011. Før 2015 var det relativt lite snakk om brukermedvirkning, og selv om vi mer uformelt har hatt tett kontakt med pasienter og studiedeltagere over mange års langsiktige studier spesielt på KOLS, har vi ikke før laget permanente strukturer som faste grupper av pasienter kunne møte i for eksempel. Med tanke på fremtidige studier er vi i prosessen med å samle noen av de tidligere studiedeltagerne for råd med tanke på problemstillinger og gjennomføring av fremtidige studier.
